When the student is ready, the teacher appears! This seems a very apt description for my life at the moment. Retirement, travel, opportunities - everything is falling into place. And I've just launched my first fibre art show - and its a solo show! Read's Book Shop in Carleton Place, ON is a wonderful venue and between 50 and 60 friends and shop patrons showed up to get me launched! I am blessed!
Now I'm turning my attention to learning how to expand my use of the web so that I can communicate more effectively with other artists and art patrons. Through this blog site I hope that other people will become more familiar with my work and I hope to use this site to share my knowledge and experiences as I continue on my journey - as I 'explore the Artist within'. Today is all about mastering the set-up and use of a blog site. Last week I posted pictures to the web at http://picasaweb.google.com/DianeDuncan01. Once I get this mastered, I will explore the development of a web site. Join me as I round the learning curve!
As an artist I like variety combining an interest in watercolour, acrylic, quilting/fiber art and mixed media - sometimes working exclusively in one medium, sometimes mixing them up. I invite you to follow my journey.
About Me
- Diane
- Calgary, Alberta, Canada
- Life and the creative process are about the journey, not the destination. I love working with colour and texture and can get totally 'lost' in the creative process. Variety keeps my creative juices flowing. We are currently traveling full time in a 40' motorhome and bouncing between visits with a son in Albuquerque NM and a son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in Calgary AB. In between we are busy exploring this great continent on which we live. It's a challenge working from my mobile studio but I am using our travel time to learn new skills and refine existing ones.
